My name is Kara Martin and I am a practising counsellor in North Devon.I have been an RGN and RM. I have an Advanced Diploma in Counselling and a Diploma in Critical Incident Debriefing and I am a member of the BACP.I am committed to providing counselling and therapy in a safe, confidential and non-judgemental environment.


My approach to counselling involves integrating my counselling training into my practice, tailoring it to meet the individual's needs. I draw on different theories and models from different counselling approaches including:-
The Person Centered Approach, Transactional Analysis, Gestalt and techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
Currently I work within the voluntary sector working as a counsellor within an organisation that is committed to the vulnerable and the homeless. I have also worked as a counsellor in a Further Educational College in a service which offered counselling and support to both staff and students.

My private practice is based in the market town of South Molton, and is in an easy travelling distance to the towns of Tiverton, Chumleigh, Barnstaple and Coombe Martin.

I work with both individuals and couples on a short or long term basis.I believe my way of working will help you to develop your own coping strategies, empowering you to bring about lasting change in your life.
